Vintage Style Step Stool No. 2 in White

A few years ago we were out looking for vintage finds and came across a couple of vintage step stools. We used them in the bathroom and in the kitchen and found it was much easier to reach the top shelf with the step stool and didn't have to boost ourselves up on the counter anymore...imagine that! Then we started using them in the bathroom for our friends kids to reach the sink for hand washing and brushing their teeth...again how fun is that! Kids wanted to hang out in the bathroom at our house and wash their hands by themselves because they could. So we decided to reproduce these classic vintage step stools right down to the finish. We started selling them on CircleCreekHome.etsy.com and they took off. We now ship 30 to 40 step stools a month all over the world and have the pleasure of working and communicating with so many wonderful people, we love it!

Soap Classes at Pine Creek Nursery

Circle Creek is heading to Pine Creek Nursery tomorrow to teach some folks how to make soap. We have a class that starts at 1:00 and then another at 3:30, if you would like to attend give them a call there might be a spot or two left. We pour all natural vegan soap in small batches to assure quality and sustainability and will walk you through the entire process.

We have been hunting, gathering and finding fun new things for the September 2ND Saturdayz. Come by Magnuson Park in Seattle from 8AM to 3PM September, 10th and check out the cool Vintage finds. The first 20 people through the door get a fun gift bag put together by JohnBob Cool Junk and this month Circle Creek Home added a bar of their Peppermint Tea Tree soap to the goodie bags. Farm to Fork Dinner on Fir Island

Fir Island is located in the beautiful Skagit Valley, a perfect setting for this amazing meal planned and prepared by Ryan Edwards and his assistant Mike of Table 9.

Our Host's Erika and Vico of Snow Goose Produce have an amazing view from their amazing home.

The dinner was made with local ingredients harvested as close as possible to the Skagit Valley.

We sat down with strangers and by the end of the meal new friendships were formed.

The meal consisted of 5 courses, starting with a roasted gazpacho soup, bruchetta and white bean puree on baguette.....

followed by roasted fingerling potatos, calmari, green beans, egg garnished with dill and a nasturshum. Absolutely beautiful and the taste was incredible.

Pasta with sausage and a vodka cream sauce was a thrill to the senses.

Filet Mignon was the main course with fava beans and fresh carrots the tastes were bold and fresh, it was an incredible meal.

Dessert was a banana muffin with fresh banana's and a cream sauce

A wonderful meal was enjoyed by all, great conversation and opportunity to talk with people doing amazing things and living their dream. Circle Creek Home plans to host one of the next dinners by Table 9. If you have a special occasion, birthday or just want to experience a Farm to Table Meal book a dinner with Table 9.

"Salvaged Wood Coffee Table"

We have been busy here at Circle Creek Home building this fun custom coffee table.

We found some wonderful vintage wood that was used for the table just last week and John transformed

it into a work of art! We can build any size, style and finish it just the way you like. This one was left natural with the perfect amount of chippy cream paint and wood showing through, takes years to achieve this look.

Add a vintage watering can, some lavender and sedum and you've got the perfect vintage look!

Vintage Mini Pie Tins Sweeten The Day!

We recently came across these vintage 1940's mini pie tins and couldn't wait to try them out.

Easter Sunday was a perfect day to make these wild blackberry treats. We buy and sell a lot of vintage bakeware and use many pieces in our kitchen. Vintage bakeware is heavier and cooks everything more evenly, we love it. We have some of these wonderful pie tins for sale at R&R Square, 1234 First Street, Snohomish, Wa. in case you want to sweeten your day!

Building the Back Bar for Ruffles & Rust Square No. 2

We were planning on moving into our new space today at R & R Square but the snow just kept coming! We now have about 14 inches of snow and it's still snowing. Since we couldn't get up the driveway we decided to head up the to shop and build the new back bar for R & R Square.

First we picked out some nice boards for the top which were reclaimed bat and board siding, the wood for the frame was found in a barn over in Lakewood. We always use salvaged and reclaimed wood whenever possible to give each piece a one of a kind look.

Then we ran them through the planer.......

Next comes the frame and legs..............

Lots and lots of sanding, nailing and lag bolting to shore the frame up and make it nice and sturdy for all of those large purchases that will be made at R & R Square No. 2!

Then the tops are set in place and screwed down..........................

This amazing back bar is ready for delivery to R & R Square! Timi and Annie are going to decide how it will be finished, maybe just waxed or oiled or possibly painted. Thanks Tim and Annie for creating this one of a kind store for everyone to enjoy! We are so excited to be a part of it!

A Vintage Affair was had by all who attended this amazing show!!

Timi Weathers Come Junk with Us and her fabulous crew put on a show to be remembered. About 85 hand picked vendors brought some of their most incredible finds and transformed them into over the top displays. Thank you to everyone for all of your support and hard work, Circle Creek Home had a wonderful time. Also thank you to all that attend our soap demonstration class we are looking forward to giving interactive soap and demonstration classes at our new location Ruffles & Rust Square in Historic Downtown Snohomish coming in March.

Wildcrafting in Mazama

We headed over to Mazama for the weekend to recharge and do some wild crafting. The air was crisp and the sound of the river made for a perfect setting to build a Pine Wreath.

First we gathered plenty of Pine Boughs, some with Pine Cones still attached.................

Then we started wiring the Pine Boughs on the wreath base working our way around.............

Thank you Craven Farm we had a fun sale and met all kinds of wonderful people. Craven Farm has such a beautiful setting right in the middle of the Snohomish Valley Farm Lands. Eagles soaring, corn growing and vendors selling their wares.....it was a beautiful thing!

Our next show is August 14 at MoonRose Antiques and Garden in Laconner, Washington. We have been busy reclaiming barn wood and building our INDUSTRIAL FarmHouse Tables and Coffee Tables, available at Circle Creek Home for local delivery and at our upcoming shows.

Vintage Wood Gets New Life

We love to salvage old vintage wood here at Circle Creek Home and repurpose it into some great usable treasure. The neighbor took down his 100 year old barn and some great batten board fir planks were up for grabs. We turned those barn boards into some really cool Industrial Farmhouse Tables. Great as a kitchen island, dining or buffet table, project/work table or in the greenhouse for potting up plants.

We salvaged sections of vintage chippy white picket fences and made these fantastic wood totes perfect for gardening, displaying or as serving trays.

Getting Ready for The 36th Annual Langley Antique and Garden Show

It's Saturday morning and we're on our way to the show. The sale is in a big barn on Whidbey Island and we are on the ferry heading across now. We set up yesterday, it was pouring rain on our way...see picture of John below all loaded up! It's been a whirlwind the last few weeks getting ready but we're all set and anticipating a fun show. There are over 30 vendors with wonderful vintage items.

Hunting for Treasure: ALWAYS!

So it was a lazy Saturday morning at Circle Creek we had some coffee and breakfast while watching the ducks do their morning float and a young deer was trying to cross but decided to turn back as the creek was up from the nights heavy rain. We were printing soap labels and stamping and wrapping bars of soap for a re-stock up at Reality a great Women's boutique in Conway, WA.

Conway was bustling with people as the tulip festival was starting, there were lots of motorcycles out on this sunny day. Once we were done there we were off in search for treasure a stop outside of Burlington produced three nice Ironstone china platters and the next place just down the road had some old enamelware tubs and a cool old typewriter.

We headed over to our friend Donna's place to watch a movie and she always comes through with some great finds, this time it was four old wood boxes, 7-UP and Pepsi. We did dig out an old grate and some other odds and ends out of her pile and oh a great free chair on the side of the road what a fabulous day of treasure hunting. I picked up the table at a thrift store on Friday. Watch for these groovy vintage items at our upcoming sales and at our Etsy shop.

Spring Vintage Tag Sale!

We are so excited, Spring is here and so are the tag sales!!

Circle Creek Home attended the Annual Green Bank Farm Tag Sale on Whidbey Island in Washington State this weekend. What a sale, they were lined up at the door just waiting to get in. We scored a vintage iron table and chair set and now have to figure out where put it, it's a keeper. The best part was on the way home when we stopped at Island Recycling, you won't believe what we found....stay tuned and check out our shop for some of the finds. After Island Recycling we hit an Estate Sale, scored some cool sea foam green pottery soon to be in the shop.

Circle Creek Home has two upcoming sales scheduled for May and June. We'll have a few of the vintage wood potting benches in the pic above at our sales and check back for more info and a peak at some of the vintage finds that will be there too!

A Fresh Pour

We love making soap here at Circle Creek Home. We just poured Sweet Orange Clove and Just Tea Tree Soap, tomorrow we'll cut the blocks of soap into 24 bars which weigh approximately 6 ounces each. Then the bars will be on the drying rack and allowed to cure for a minimum of 30 days to assure a quality longer lasting bar of soap.

We use the cold process method made from the finest oils in small batches, never from a base. Each batch is poured into wooden molds and takes approximately 24 hours to set up before cutting into bars. Handcrafted and hand cut by us every time! Right down to the label and wrapping of the bar, the soap bands were designed, printed, hand stamped and cut by us at Circle Creek Home.

The Sweet Orange Clove and Just Tea Tree will arrive in our shop in a few weeks but we have several other scents available now. You will find our shop at Circle Creek Home take a look, once you try a 100 % pure oil soap made from scratch you'll never go back!

Find of the Week or Maybe the Month!

I was cruising down the road in my trusty Pacifica heading to a customers office to pick up some documents on Monday and I spotted a G-Sale sign! My first instinct was that it was a leftover from the weekend but I had to turn and see and lo and behold it was on! I started to check it out and a rough looking lady minus a couple of teeth said "how you doing darling?" I rummaged through some boxes and there it was a very dirty matte white vase of the Haeger variety but unmarked. I held it up and asked "how much?" "fifty cent" she replied SOLD!

It cleaned up perfectly and is on the window sill filled with a beautiful bouquet of tulips. I said "this was the find of the day" and Brenda said "no the find of the month" being that it was only the first I thought that was a bold statement. So remember to check those signs out even on a Monday.

Friday Night Village Run

WOW, it was Friday at last, the finish line of the work week for Brenda and I, we made it through another week at the j-o-b!
I said let's make it easy tonight and just have an Alfy's take and bake pizza, Brenda was on with that. We were all settled in and enjoying our pizza and fed the dogs when I said hey The Village is open until 9pm we should make a run! The Village is how we refer to Value Village a popular chain of thrift stores in the Western part of the US where many a fine treasure is found.

Brenda said "do you want to?" Oh Yeah, let's do it! If we got there by 8:15 we would have 45 minutes to scour the place for some groovy finds. We loaded up the hounds and hit the road and made it there right at 8:15. I grabbed my stash of coupons and in we went. We hit the housewares first and a precursory of the magazines and books then right into fabrics, blankets vintage American flags and on and on. We have found some great vintage hats lately but tonight it was a brand new 80 piece artist set of pens, colored pencils, oil pastels and watercolor paints, a cool curtain panel that will become a pillow cover and a couple of magazines.

Not the mother lode by any means but I did get to use a 20% off coupon that I had. The beauty of The Village is that every time you go to one there is always different new stuff there like you wouldn't believe and you never know when your going to find the perfect vintage find. The thrill of the hunt and enjoying your life is the key, so of course when The Village was closing at 9pm and we had to leave we promptly drove to the Dairy Queen for peanut buster parfaits. A short excursion with good memories, The Village tour is just getting under way and I hope to have many reports for you up and down the West Coast and beyond.

Our Bath and Hand Bars are fresh and clean, made of the finest oils from scratch in small batches, never from a base. Handcrafted and hand cut by us every time and allowed to cure for a minimum of 30 days to assure a quality longer lasting bar of soap, approximately 6 ounces each.

We are focusing on community and local artists and craftsmen, sustainability and just having fun with life. Some of our goals are to set up a local bartering system with people who have things they can trade for everday use or uniquie one of a kind things. We are also going to host home parties with our crafts and soaps and yes the vintage finds and will be featuring other local artists at those parties.
